Mohuc
The city of Mohuc is probably the oldest city in the Dershowo, originally founded by the Empire of Rhum which ruled the lands around the Southern Sea about 2000 years ago. While later invasions and wars have destroyed the Rhumian culture, many traces of the Rhumian city can be found in Mohuc today.
City Center of Mohuc
City Center
The center of Mohuc is located on the north-western bank of the river Rhana, near the confluence with the river Mohus. Some parts of the city are located on the south-eastern bank, connected via two large bridges.
The north-western bank of Rhana rises steeply, enclosing the city center like an amphitheatre. In the city center, the main attractions are several religious buildings, a large Mithraic temple originating from Rhumian times, the large Christian cathetral and smaller Jewish and Islamic temples. Several large squares are connected by a maze of alleys, with a wide promenade on the bank of the river. The heights surrounding the city center are densely settled and interspersed with terraces offering a good view of the city.
Gradna
On the western side of the city, a narrow ridge separates the suburb of Gradna from the city center. This rather poor suburb is characterized by its ancient houses which are up to 6 levels high. Dark alleys and stairs lead down to the workshops and small boat harbours at the river bank, the river promenade of the city center reduced to a narrow path with wooden bridges. A small fortress on a river island protects the entry to the city from the river side.

Fort Mohuc
The old parts of the city are surrounded by a belt of fortresses and walls, today surrounded by a chain of parks. The largest fortress, overlooking Gradna, is the Old Fort, its roots stemming from Rhuman times. A stone monument in one corner of the fortress was built to remember a Rhuman general who died in a battle in the vicinity. The Old Fort contains a military museum displaying weapons and uniforms from Musogradian history and mementos of the Mohucnian General N. Tosh, Secretary of the Federation from 2006 - 2012. Near the walls of the fortress, the ruins of a Rhumian theater were discovered and now have been partly reconstructed.
Fort Mohuc
Eastern Mohuc
The south-eastern side of the river is less densely settled, as it is low-laying and regularly flooded in spring. Protecting the main bridge linking the city center with the road to Musograd City is a large fortress, Federation Fort, almost a small city in itself, built on a small rising which often becomes an island during flood times. It is still partly used by the military, but is open to the public. Mohuc Railway Station is located next to Federation Fort, linking the city to Musograd City in the east and Kosnice in the south.
From Federation Fort down to the confluene with Mohus river, the south-eastern bank of the river is covered with fishermen houses built on wooden stilts, linked by bridges and rope walkways. These days, the area has become famous for its fish restaurants located on retired transport ships.
New Town and Suburbs
Back to the north-western side of the river. In the last two centuries, the city has outgrown its old walls and fortress belt. Several suburbs surround the city. The University campus is also located in this zone, with its famous Academy of Avionics and Defense. Built in a star-like layout, the campus is one of the major attractions of the city.
A second belt of military defenses, less conspicuous than the old ones, surrounds this area, made necessary by the civil wars of the recent past. It extends to the Airport in the west and is combined with a ring road around the city area.
