Musograd

A Country Like A Dream

Musograd City

Musograd City is the largest city of the Dershowo. It is not exactly known when the city was founded, but in 1233, when the Kingdom of Musograd was first mentioned in the "Historia Planitiae Orientalis", it was already a well-established town with a small castle.

Location

The city is located on the banks of the Smell river, which, contrary to its name, is a clear river coming down from the hills of the Musogradian Forest in the north west of the city. The river is crossed by many bridges connecting the southern and northern halves of the city. Musograd Castle, the former Royal Castle, is located on the southern bank of the river, while the commercial center around Lord Dershowo Square and the monumental New City Hall is located in the northern half of the city.

The Musogradian Government and the Kuomnata, the Parliament, are located in the north western part of the City, overlooking the Smell valley.

Octants of Musograd

The city is organized into nine Octants, with the central Lord Dershowo Square and its surroundings, including City Hall, located north of the river, numbered as Octant Zero, the Castle and its surrounding Old Town with residential and educational areas south of the river Octant One, then, continuing clockwise, the crafts and industrial area on the south western bank of Smell, Octant Two, the residential area on the north western bank Octant Three, the government quarter Octant Four.

Separated by a forested park in the north, Octant Five contains residential and educational areas. Octant Six is adjacent to the north of Octant Zero, with commercial and residential areas, while Octant Seven is more removed from the City, containing Musograd International Airport, Musograd Railway Station and the main base of Musogradi Armije. Finally, the residential and industrial Octant Eight is wedged between Octants Six and One, and extending out to Octant Seven and the Airport.

Musograd City is surrounded by a patchwork of forests and agricultural areas, with the Musogradian Forest covering most of the areas north and west of the city.

Tourism

Tourists visiting the city find a number of excellent hotels in the center in Octant Zero and smaller accomodations in the Old Town below the castle. For transportation, it is recommended to use the express metro connecting the airport and railway station to the city center. Both Octant Zero and Octant One are completely free of car traffic except for service vehicles in the morning. A number of tram lines connect the inner city Octants with each other and the outer parts of the city.
